Dental Horrrors!

Already it has been a colourful week for your author.   My computer has twice been infected by a "Trojan" which slipped passed "Mcafee".  I am currently rather paranoid about the protection (or lack of said) provided by this BT endorsed service.

Thursday November 25th is likely to be another quiet day as I am getting a tooth extracted in preparation for an implant.  Quite ghastly and I fear there will be much pain.   Considering the reluctance of British Medicos to provide effective analgesia I am dreading the aftermath!

These things considered, I may not be able to achieve all that I wished this week.  Enthusiasm has not dimmed and a few conversions are in progress.  Additionally I want to get my flags printed and I am investigating Campaign Cartographer as a way to produce detailed maps.  It seems straightforward and the ability to import PNGs means I should be able to keep things looking "in period".

More soon - thanks for reading.

  1. Due to some very bad experiences when I was a child (over 50 years ago), I am one of those people who absolutely dread dentists . . . so I feel for you, sir. May your experience be easy and pain-free.

  2. Good luck with it! At least it should not be as bad as 18th century dental treatment, which was positively barbaric. (I had a tooth extracted in 2008 and although I do not like the dentist at all (I had a lot of bad experiences as a child and teenager) it could have been much worse.)

    Cheers,

  3. Wish you well for to-day !
See the positive side of it: to have to meet a dentist implies that you still have teeth -you no longer have use of a hairdresser when totally bald...

  4. Thank you Gentlemen. £300.00 down the tube and a gaping hole in my jaw. However the surgeon proved to be able and the service excellent.

March 2011, and I get the titanium parts.

Now - bed rest. The quality check on the NorthStar arrivals will have to wait...

  5. Glad to hear it went well - even if it has left large holes in wallet and jaw! Ooof.... Hope it heals quickly - lots of soup and soft food for a while!

    Cheers,
